This is my second pair of these gloves after having lost one from my previous pair. A lot of staying warm in cold weather comes down to just keeping the wind off of you. These do well for this in cool weather and limited amounts of cold weather. The padding on the thumb and 2 fingers is just enough to allow you to grab rails or your steering wheel without slippage. A great set of gloves for travel, ultralight hiking or any case where you're not sure you'll need gloves, as these are thin and light enough that they pack easily, so it's no big deal to bring them along.
