Merino Wool is the Bomb, 3/22/2007 Reviewer: Carl (Oklahoma City, OK)
Not to overstate it but I'm really liking merino wool for base layers. Wool's natural wicking capabilities and odor-control is just better than the high-tech polyesters. I switched socks from Thorlo, underwear from Patagonia and tee shirts from North Face. From a kid of the 70's when wool was itchy, the new merino wool works great out in the backcountry for me.

Very comfortable. Used on an expedition with temperatures ranging from 70 to low 20's. Small and light for easy packing. Highly recommend for layering.
