I bought this shirt and the midweight bottoms mainly for a trip to Canada in February (just below freezing). Walking all over Quebec City these thermal underwear kept me very warm and dry. The only thing I did not like about the top was that the zipper, when zipped all the way up, was too tight around my neck (and I am 5'9'', 130lbs), and I consider myself to have a very skinny neck. I also used these as long underwear to sleep in on a 7 day hiking trip to Colorado where the temp at night was in the low 40's, and along with my +15 degree sleeping I never got cold. I highly recommend smartwool products, as they will keep you warm and are not itchy AT ALL. If I get another top in the future I will only get the one without the zipper.
