Fox River just makes very good long wearing socks.. i have been using this brand of socks for a very long time and i will keep buying them..

I have purchased about 2+ dozen pairs of these socks over the years. I am a research fishery biologist with a federal agency. I wear these socks on a daily basis to the office where they are extremely comfortable indoors as well as outdoors in our generally rainy climate. I also wear them under extreme conditions while working on research and charter vessels in the eastern Bering Sea. In this setting, the thick-loop pile adds comfort and insulation from cold steel decks during long days exposed to the elements. My primary problem has been with the heel areas that wear out long before the rest of the sock - some additional reinforcement is needed. Overall, these are excellent 3-season socks in the PacNW.
