Bought them for a week long backpacking trip to the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho. I broke them in for a few weeks prior to the trip. They're a great pair of boots...waterproof, crossed plenty of rivers and streams, even snow...supportive, especially carrying a 40lb pack during gains and losses of elevation (7,000-10,0000). Pretty good traction when walking over wet rocks. Downsides...too hot for my feet, my socks were always very wet. For me, these boots would have been more suitable for colder weather. Also, I don't recommend the insoles that comes with the boot, find another pair. Overall the boot is great fit for my foot and will last a long time, but I will not wear them in warm weather (70 degrees or above)
